Do you have a message God’s placed on your heart that you feel called to share? Starting a Christian podcast could be your next step toward ministry, outreach, or simply encouraging others in their daily walk. Whether it’s Bible study reflections, spiritual growth, testimonies, or health and wellness from a faith-based perspective, your voice matters.

At OneShare Health, we believe in lifting each other up in every season of life. If the Lord is prompting you to start a podcast, we want to help you take that first step in confidence and clarity.

Step 1: Pray Over Your Purpose

Before you press “record,” take time to pray. Ask the Lord to reveal the purpose of your podcast. Is it to encourage believers? Reach those who don’t know Christ? Share your testimony? Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Let your podcast be an offering, something that  glorifies God and builds others up.

Step 2: Define Your Audience and Message

Who are you speaking to? Are you hoping to inspire young adults, reach fellow parents, or minister to those going through hardship? Once you know your audience, you can tailor your episodes with topics they care about.

A good place to start:

  • Choose 5 episode topics you’re passionate about

  • Outline how Scripture or personal stories can support each one

Step 3: Gather Your Tools (Simple is OK!)

You don’t need a fancy studio to start. Many successful podcasters begin with just a smartphone and a quiet room.

At minimum, you’ll need:

  • A microphone (even a USB one for your laptop will do)

  • Recording software (try free tools like Audacity or GarageBand)

  • A podcast host (Buzzsprout, Podbean, and Anchor are popular and user-friendly)

Remember, content matters more than polish. Speak with honesty, and let the  Spirit guide your words.

Step 4: Record with Heart

When you're ready to record, don’t stress about perfection. Be yourself. Include Scripture, prayer, encouragement, or worship if it fits your style. Let your personality, and your faith—shine through!

A short 15-20 minute episode is a great way to begin. Many listeners appreciate content that fits into their morning drive or quiet devotional time.

Step 5: Share and Grow

Once you’ve published your first few episodes, share them with your church community, social media followers, or family and friends. You might even want to invite guest speakers, including your pastor or ministry leaders.

Consistency is key. Set a realistic schedule, whether it’s weekly, biweekly, or monthly—and stick with it. God can do amazing things through small beginnings.Podcast Start up

A Final Word of Encouragement

Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Your voice may be the encouragement someone needs today.

As part of the OneShare Health Family, you already know what it means to support others in love and community. Sharing your faith through a podcast is just one more way you can carry the light of Christ into the world.
