We’re here to give you the lowdown on what it means to live a healthier, joyful life with these 7 basic health tips!
As a Christian Health Care Sharing Ministry, OneShare Health is all about helping our Members pursue positive lifestyle changes that encourage accountability and healthy living habits. Generally, a healthy lifestyle includes eating nutritious foods, engaging in physical exercise, maintaining positive relationships with family, friends, and peers, and developing productive work habits (especially during Shelter in Place).
To get you started on your health journey, here are seven manageable pieces of health advice for you and your loved ones:
Modify your diet to include healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, healthy fats, and omega-3 fatty acids. According to the World Health Organization, people who make fruits and vegetables a regular part of their diet have a “significantly lower risk of obesity, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and certain types of cancer.”
At the same time, control your consumption of unhealthy foods—red and processed meats, sugar-sweetened beverages, trans fat, and sodium—as much as possible. Remember, knowing how to eat healthy doesn’t mean depriving yourself of the foods you love, rather moderating intake and controlling portion sizes throughout your day. YOU are in control of your thoughts. So, train your mind to see the good in EVERY situation.
