I remember as a kid, I would lie in bed and wonder why I was here. Why was I born into the family I was born into. What could this world possibly have for me when I grew up. I would love to say I figured it out early, but that would not be true. I grew up with no idea of what I wanted to be or what I was even good at. I’m sure many of you felt the same way and honestly, you still wonder what the point of your life really is. We all have to navigate that question of “Why am I here?” Thankfully I read the bible and began to show me the answer.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
We belong to God and our purpose is to worship and love Him. We make finding our purpose very difficult sometimes when all we really need to know is very simple. As we worship God, He fills us with His purpose! He has given us gifts and talents to bless and serve others and show the love of God to those who don’t know Him yet.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
You and I have been created for the work of the kingdom of God. Find and nurture the gifts and talents you have been given to show others the truth of Jesus and eternal life. Your true purpose will always be found in the presence of King Jesus and through the power of Holy Spirit.
