3 Ways to Find Courage During Hard Times

Written by OneShare Health | 3:30 PM on January 23, 2025

Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, but as followers of Christ, we are reminded that we are never alone. In the face of difficulty, courage often becomes a choice—a decision to trust in God’s promises, lean on His strength, and walk forward in faith. Here are three ways to find courage during hard times.

Anchor Yourself in God’s Word

The Bible is full of reminders that God is with us, even in the darkest moments. Verses like Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble," assure us that we are never facing life’s challenges on our own. By spending time in prayer and Scripture, we can replace fear with faith, knowing that God's promises never fail.

Lean on a Supportive Community

The Christian journey is not meant to be walked alone. Galatians 6:2 calls us to "carry each other’s burdens," a principle lived out in communities of faith. Whether it’s through prayer groups, fellowship with friends, or ministries like OneShare Health, sharing your struggles and leaning on others can help lighten the load.

Reflect on God’s Faithfulness in the Past

Sometimes, the best reminder of God’s ability to see us through the present is looking back at His faithfulness in the past. Journaling answered prayers, reflecting on previous blessings, or simply recalling moments of deliverance can reignite our courage and trust in God's sovereignty.
