Are Pre-Existing Conditions Eligible for Health Care Sharing with OneShare Health?

As a Christian health sharing ministry, OneShare Health strives to facilitate quality care for our Members during all seasons of life. Our Scriptural Foundation encourages our Faith-based Ministry to carry one another’s physical and spiritual burdens through prayer, encouragement, and sharing the cost of Eligible medical needs, including those that arise from a Pre-Existing Condition.

If you or a loved one is interested in becoming a Member of a medical cost-sharing Program offered by OneShare Health, and you are currently living with a Pre-Existing Condition, your condition may be Eligible for cost sharing!

How do OneShare Health’s medical sharing Programs define “Pre-Existing Condition”?

At OneShare Health, “Pre-Existing Condition” means any sickness or Injury for which you have received medical treatment, advice, care, or services, including diagnostic measures, took prescribed drugs, or showed signs and symptoms, whether treated or not, within 24 months before the Effective Date of your Program. Eligibility for Pre-Existing Conditions has a 24-Month Waiting Period.

Is there any way to bypass the 24-Month Waiting Period?

Although OneShare Health requires a 24-Month Waiting Period for Pre-Existing Conditions, Routine Maintenance* is available through PCP, Specialists Visits, and Physician-ordered Labs on the Classic and Complete Program for the following conditions: Diabetes 1&2, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, and Hyper- or Hypothyroid.

*The goal of Routine Maintenance is to monitor and maintain the improvement that was accomplished with active treatment.

Does pregnancy qualify as a Pre-Existing Condition by OneShare Health’s definition?

Our Programs refer only to Maternity Sharing, not pregnancy. Sharing is only Eligible if you conceive after the Effective Date (1st—28th of the month) of your health sharing Program. So, if you are pregnant before or at the time of enrollment, Maternity is Not Eligible for Sharing as it meets OneShare’s definition of Pre-Existing Condition.
