Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and what a wonderful tradition we have in remembering the blessings in our life. We have so much to be thankful for, even during trying times such as these.
As we take a minute to reflect on all that we are thankful for, think also on the great opportunity we have to take the focus off of ourselves and serve others. Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV): “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
This perspective is uncommon in our culture today, as we strive to be the best or have the most. It is easy to get caught in the trap of “success” and all that comes with that. But our country—and our world—is in desperate need of selflessness and compassion. And, as followers of Jesus, we are commanded to do these very things. Colossians 3:12 (NIV): “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
We are in a pivotal time in our world, and we are called to love as Christ loved. Love makes all the difference. So, this Thanksgiving, look to bless others and show them selfless love, just as Jesus showed us when He gave His life for us.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

What are Christian health ministries? OneShare has the answers.
Unlike other Christian health ministries, OneShare Health has origins in the Anabaptist faith. This means that we are a Health Care Sharing Ministry that welcomes and unites those who agree with our core biblical principles and Statement of Beliefs. Our Members believe in the concept of compassionate care and sharing the burdens of others through medical cost sharing.
